Wondering why professionals across all sectors should pay attention to this event?
Because space tech is translating directly into powerful Earth benefits:
- Advanced Manufacturing: Robotics developed for extreme space environments are driving efficiency in factories.
- Health Outcomes: Research into astronaut health (e.g., bone density) is advancing terrestrial medical understanding.
- Essential Services: Your phone, navigation, and vital emergency communications rely on resilient satellite systems, and industries like agriculture and environmental management benefit from real-time data downloads.
But why is Sydney is the center of the Space World next week?
Did you know that Australia's space sector has been active since the 1950's? In 1969, those famous first live televised steps of Neil Armstrong’s moonwalk (Apollo 11), came courtesy of NASA's station in Honeysuckle Creek in the Australian Capital Territory! There was even a movie made about it: ‘The Dish’.
Lately the Australian space sector is booming. It's not just Sydney, it’s across the country. With Australia’s clear skies, skilled workforce, and equatorial proximity making launches more cost-effective, it’s becoming a no brainer.
From September 29 to October 3, the IAC 2025 will host up to 10,000 global space leaders (think space and STEM cross-industry professionals, global space agency representatives, students and academics, government leaders and policymakers, entrepreneurs and space-adjacent industry innovators). If you haven’t registered, well it’s still not too late to book a flight over - even if you have to settle for jet fueled transport ⛽️ not rocket fuel 🚀
This generational event is hosted by the Space Industry Association of Australia and co-hosted by the Australian Space Agency and the NSW Government. It’s a massive moment for the global space sector.
